The Tahitian Pearls is in with a new fashion wave.
The preferred dark pearl, which ranges from silvery grey to graphite black gives a modern edge to the conventional white variety. TianPo's latest pearl collection presents these dark beauties in contemporary classic settings.
What determines the value of the pearl?
SIZE is one of the unique aspects of the Tahitian Pearl. It ranges from 8mm to 16mm. Large pearls are rarer and higher in value.
SHAPES of the pearl can be round, drop or baroque. Perfectly round pearls are the rarest and most sought after.
ORIENT is the iridescence reflected from the inside of the pearl. It gives that shimmering rainbow colours from the pearl.
LUSTRE is the reflective quality of the pearl's surface. It is the mirror-like quality of the pearl. The higher its lustre, the richer its orient, the finer the pearl.
COLOURS of the Tahitian pearls range from a multitude of tones and shades of colours. They range from basic black to a rainbow of colours: champagne, peacock green, aubergine purple to even pink. Colour preference is subjective, however the peacock green colour will command a higher value.
SURFACE texture of the pearl is also a critical factor. The degree of visible surface features seen on the pearly surface, such as pits or blemishes, will affect its beauty and value.
